Expertly Done exists to keep the promise close to the work

Paula founded Expertly Done and curates the senior healthcare experts behind each engagement — so the expertise you hear in the conversation is what you feel in the work.

The company

What Expertly Done is

Expertly Done is a healthcare reinforcement company. When work expands past what your team can absorb — a vendor-driven implementation, a policy backlog, a leadership seat under pressure — we bring in senior healthcare experts who carry defined work under your authority, stabilize it, and exit with the structure left behind.

It was founded by Paula — a career spanning the bedside, executive turnaround work, and corporate finance — and it is delivered through a curated network of senior experts she has worked with, vetted, or trained. The company exists because the usual options fail leaders under pressure: large engagements are disruptive and hard to unwind, and internal absorption quietly costs leaders their nights, their weekends, and their best people.

Authority stays internal. Scope is defined and bounded. Exit is designed from the beginning.

Pressure lands in three places.

How we run

Built so it’s safe to let us in

Bringing outside experts inside your organization is a trust decision. The model is engineered so you stay in control — from the first conversation to the designed exit.

Scoped before it begins

Objective, boundaries, deliverables, and the exit condition are set before any work starts — you know what “done” looks like on day one.

Matched, not staffed

Paula signs off on every match personally — the expert whose experience the work demands, never whoever happens to be available.

Visible while it runs

A working cadence, decision records, and artifacts you can inspect — progress you can see, not progress you are told.

Built to end

Every engagement is designed to make itself unnecessary — the structure stays, and we exit.

The network

The experts behind each engagement

Expertly Done is a curated network spanning clinical, engineering, technical, and business disciplines — nurse leaders and monitoring-room specialists alongside biomedical engineers, network and integration experts, educators, and finance and procurement minds. It has to span them all: a clinical-only bench can’t check a network capacity claim or a spectrum plan, and a technical-only bench can’t see the workflow. Each engagement is staffed with the people whose expertise the work actually requires — not whoever happens to be available.

Selected, not subcontracted

Every expert is someone Paula has worked with, vetted, or trained — many over years or decades. Not contractors found on a roster; engagements are matched to the experience the work actually demands.

They’ve held the seat

Every expert has done the job they’re reinforcing — run the unit, carried the survey window, led the implementation. Your team gets a peer who has lived their pressure, not an observer with a framework.

They work under your authority

Experts carry the work; your leaders keep the decisions, the visibility, and the credit. The scope is defined before day one — and staying inside it is part of the job.

Discretion is the default

What they see inside your organization stays inside your organization — leadership situations, survey windows, vendor disputes. No case studies, no name-dropping, no exceptions.

Aligned to the mission

Aligned to the same commitment — serve healthcare’s champions, with discipline, partnership, and the optimism this work requires.

The judgment behind it

Clinical, leadership, and finance — Paula has worked inside all three

Each product line stands on a different part of that range — so your organization is understood from every angle, not just one.

Client / Vendor Navigator™

Credibility on both sides of the contract

Vendor-driven initiatives get judged from three angles at once. The bedside — ten years of hands-on care across every acute environment, from 900-bed academic centers to critical access — taught what a real workflow can actually absorb. The project office built the deepest bench in centralized telemetry and monitoring: alarm governance, monitor-technician workforce architecture, cross-campus harmonization.

And the finance seat — portfolio-level forecasting, reporting, and large-system implementations — taught how to read what a proposal includes and what it quietly leaves out. That is why readiness claims get tested before they become contractual reality.

Situational Response Experts™

Credibility earned inside the pressure

Years of onsite turnaround and stabilization work are the reason this line exists: policy and documentation lifecycles carried end-to-end under survey deadlines, regulatory findings corrected and cleared, leadership moments steadied alongside the teams doing the work — never from a conference room.

That experience is why every engagement arrives with defined scope, absorbs the pressure without taking the chair, and exits with the structure holding.

The Expertly Done Leadership Institute™

Credibility from developing leaders in real conditions

Every stabilization proved the same thing: results hold only when the leaders who remain can hold them. Years of developing clinical and non-clinical leaders inside real operating pressure shaped everything about how the Institute teaches.

A career spanning both the clinical and the business side of healthcare is why its programs are live, coach-led, and built for the conditions leaders actually return to — including the financial fluency most clinical development never teaches.

What changes when the right expert steps in

Client/Vendor Navigator · The proposal priced the product — not the implementation

A health system had approved capital for a major clinical technology rollout and was treating the project as fully funded. The proposal covered the product and the technical milestones — not the workflow design, staff backfill, education, policy, testing, and stabilization the organization would have to supply.

Expertly Done matched a senior implementation strategist with clinical, operational, and financial range. The hidden work was mapped into owned categories with readiness gates and turned into a financial case leadership could take through governance — without turning the vendor relationship into a fight. Activation followed evidence of readiness, not the vendor calendar.

Client/Vendor Navigator · Support that had quietly become sales

A healthcare organization had reached its limit with a monitoring vendor whose presence had grown past the contract — standing “improvement” meetings, vendor clinicians with direct access to bedside staff, commitments that kept evaporating.

An experienced vendor-relationship steward became the single point of contact. Every vendor request came through one door, the organization decided if and when meetings happened and what their scope was, and the commitment record stayed on the client’s side of the table. Leadership stopped taking vendor meetings entirely — reports came to them instead.

Situational Response Experts · The findings were symptoms — not the problem

An acute-care organization was under a fixed CMS correction window, and its policies, staff practice, education records, and leadership oversight were telling different stories. Rewriting documents alone would have created the appearance of correction without the discipline to sustain it.

A senior regulatory-readiness specialist carried one corrective structure — every finding crosswalked to policy and observed practice, one accountable owner per obligation, daily readiness cadence, live tracers, centralized evidence. The deadline was met, the resurvey returned zero deficiencies, and the structure stayed after exit.

Situational Response Experts · Everyone knew something was wrong. Nobody could act on it.

A department’s leadership situation had senior leaders stuck between two exposures: act without evidence and be unfair, or wait without structure and watch the team absorb the strain. Every internal party had a structural interest in the outcome, so no internal assessment could be trusted.

An impartial senior leadership coach — someone who had held the seat — delivered a neutral assessment under real operating conditions, structured support, and impartial documentation senior leaders could rely on for whatever came next. The decision became evidence-based and defensible in both directions — and the team was protected while it was made.

The Leadership Institute · The best clinician got the job — and no support

An organization promoted its strongest clinician into a vacant leadership seat — the right choice, left to figure it out alone. Six weeks in: excellent with patients, unprepared for budget variance, performance conversations, and the political weather of the executive floor. The available development was self-paced modules built for another industry.

A senior coach-practitioner — a leader who had made the same transition — worked with her live, alongside a cohort of clinical and non-clinical peers in one shared language, with coaching seated outside the reporting line. She stayed, the team steadied, and the next leader coming up behind her had a mentor.

The Leadership Institute · The training ended. Nothing changed.

Leaders kept coming back from development programs with insight and no traction. The concepts were sound; the day-to-day never changed — and the teams under them kept feeling the same strain. Capable leaders were quietly stepping back from leading.

Through Empower to Create Action, a senior coach worked both sides the assessment surfaces — the leader’s own mastery, and how they engage and retain a team — turning insight into practiced behavior through live coaching, feedback, and a capstone applied to their real unit. Leading stopped being theory — and the team could feel the difference.

The principle that runs underneath it

People under real pressure should not have to choose between bad options. It is the same thread that runs through everything — the company, the volunteer work, the board service.
